My Priorities - "The Basics"

My Initiatives - The "Big Ideas"

#SilverLine / Cotton Belt - A Redevelopment to Define a New Frontier

This along with the DART Green Line represents the 21st Century equivalent to the BNSF/Cotton-Belt intersection of over 100 years ago that helped found Carrollton.   We have tremendous new investment opportunity to attract business, retail and Transit-Connected housing to Carrollton East-West as we have seen North-South.  Complementary to a "Legacy-Like" Development requires "out of the box" thinking and overlooks the Maridoe Golf Club just north of Kelly and Beltline.

Trinity Mills Station -- Legacy West Type Renaissance Development at PGBT / IH35 - Jobs & Tax Base

Carrollton's first Class-A Office, Corporate Campus and Profile Hotel's will provide a nice Cap to the Historic Downtown Transit Zone in partnership with DART's property and serves as prime example of Redevelopment (once trailer parks, old retail warehouse and sub-optimized development)

  • Walkable, Vibrant, Authentic
  • Live, Work & Play - Productive Days give way to Vibrant Nights
  •  900,000 sqft of Class-A Office Buildings
  • Esplinade park with water-features and more ("Klyde Warren Park-like")
  • Class A-Hotel
  • Mix of High-Rise Apartment Living and Restaurants, Retail & Entertainment

PGBT / Dallas Tollway Development - Bring Jobs & Tax Base

With continued new investment, we should leverage this and paint the picture of what could be - to entice new development.   Our Collin County footprint is front & center for Class-A office

 Vintage Railroad

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad has license to come 1/2 way to Carrollton and desires to extend their service to our #HistoricDowntown square.   Let facilitate work with DART and the Vintage Rail Service to connect Carrollton-Grapevine-Fort Worth Stockyards and augment our "Destination" appeal.

#HistoricDowntown - The Renaissance in Process!

Continue the journey along our Renaissance in process known as the #HistoricDowntown as it fuels the Shops at Carrollton.  This transformation began after my first year on Council as we worked to Transform an old parking lot to a vibrant and bustling Destination for Restaurants, Retail and Entertainment.  What we've done and more to come:

  • Gazebo & Square Park
  • Pioneer Park
  • 3 Nations Brewery
  • Cane Rosso, Twisted Root, Barrell & Bones, El Rincon and so much more
  • Tulips & Sculptures
  • DART Green Line and #SilverLine Connection
  • Single Family Housing to the North & South
  • Legacy-Style Development to the North through Trinity Mills Station & Beyond
  • Pocket Sandwich Theatre to Downtown Carrollton - 41 Year Bedrock of Dallas

Green Space / "Arbor Hills" -like Development

The TC Rice property behind La Hacienda Ranchero represents a hidden and un-utilized gem for the City to build an Arbor Hills-like (on steroids) development

  • network of Bike and Hike trails with limited investment required
  • Zip-Line - zoom through the skies with the greenspace and wetlands below
  • Canoe / Kayak - leverage our Kayak water trail

Corridor Enhancements & Drive Up Appeal

  • Continue opportunistic Upgrades & Updates working with Private Business Owners to Beautify and Enhance the arterial corridors

  • Engage Corporate Adopt-a-Block programs to attract private partnership investment
  • Stone Coat the Eddie Man (Pre-Cast, Fake Brick) Walls - These date our community. A Stone facade improvement will provide cost-effective upgrade to the City

Expanded Trail Systems

Continued investment to create access points for our robust Trail-System.   Connect Trails via #SilverLine such that one can hop on the Blue Trail off Hebron Parkway, reach Las Colinas, Katy Trail and Arlington.  #SilverLine will connect Plano to DFW with 26 mile trail bordering the rail and integrated with Carrollton Trails.

Much, Much, More...
